- Overview
"Kith and Kin" explores the intricate relationships we have with the myriad forms of life that inhabit our planet. The reckless exploitation of the natural world and its commodification have fostered a belief that we are entitled to its resources. This mindset has led us to overlook the deep connections we share with other beings. The work invites us to reflect on our relationship with animals and the broader network of life, reminding us that we are an integral part of nature, not its masters. This exhibit, featuring the collaborative works of a mother and daughter duo, celebrates these profound connections through drawings and paintings. It serves as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for conservation efforts to protect the remaining wild spaces and their inhabitants. Meet Monaghan and Kaufman during Artwork on August 10 from 5:00 to 7:00pm and follow them on Instagram @denisemonaghan.art and @annakaufman.
